To make a new folder in the current directory, type <tt>sudo mkdir folder_name</tt>. To remove a directory type in a particular path, type <tt>sudo rmdir /path/directory</tt>. Normally, ~~You~~you ~~lose~~need ~~any~~to remove all contents, sobefore you can remove the directory. If you are sure it is ~~best~~safe to ~~only~~remove ~~use~~directory ~~this~~and ~~whenthe~~contents in one go, type tt>sudo rmdir -r /path/directory</tt>, isbut remember the contents are gone for ever, so be absolutely sure you have specified the right folder! ~~empty.~~ To copy folders/files from one directory to another use <tt>cp -R --update --preserve /home/pi/CumulusMX/backup/daily /media/pi/data/CumulusMX/archive</tt>
