I'm an avid weather watcher. I use Allisonhouse's weather feed as my data source. I use GRLevel3 2.0 and GR2Analyst 2.0 software from Gibson Ridge to visualize that data. Also, as part of my Allisonhouse subscriptions I am running AWIPS CAVE on a Linux CentOS server.
I am the NWS Skywarn Coordinator for my community. I am an Extra Class amateur radio operator. I have a wireless fan aspirated Davis Vantage Pro2 with an IP logger connected to Cumulus running on Raspberry Pi. I broadcast my Cumulus collected weather data to CWOP, weatherunderground, and APRS. I have a second Davis console with an additional IP logger that I use to send the weather data collected from my Davis Vantage Pro2 to a Davis' Weatherlink page. For mobile apps, I use Radarscope and Davis' weatherlink. I have been using Cumulus since the beginning on Windows. When CumulusMX became stable on Pi, I made the leap and never looked back. I try to keep my version current checking the software portion of the WIKI often.
In my everyday life, I work in a local/state government IT department as an Enterprise Storage Systems Manager. I manage 750TB of data, the systems that contain that data, the datacenter(s) environmental monitoring and UPS systems. Needless to say, I have lots of responsibilities. I prefer it that way. I like to stay busy. If you want to keep your brain healthy, keep it busy.
