+When Cumulus is (re-)started, it adds up the corresponding daily totals in dayfile.txt to generate the figures for the displays within the view menu, and then (for the web tags) adds today's total so far to it. For the view menu 'This year' screen it calculates the total for the calendar year, for the <#ryear> web tag it calculates the total for the rainfall season starting with the month set on the station settings screen.
